Jefferson Democrat Club
The Jefferson Democrat Club is a local club open to anyone interested in democratic politics and helping to make a difference on a local, state and national level.
The mission of the Jefferson Democrat Club is to work for the success of the Democratic Party and the Democratic candidates by training, informing, organizing and mobilizing Democrats for service to the party and as decided by the Club, making contributions to Democratic candidates and issues.
Please join us every 3rd Thursday at Bones Restaurant in Jefferson City. Our annual dues are only $15 .

Message from Club President
Dear Cole Co Democrat friends,
While it’s fun to watch the quarrelling Republican presidential primaries, we can’t be diverted from our own work to elect Democrats. At the Jan. meeting, our speaker, Matt Teter, Ex. Director of the State Committee, discussed the court challenges to the redistricting maps and the challenges we face electing Democrats.
This election year, the Jefferson Democratic Club members will have many opportunities to promote candidates and the party. One of the ideas proposed at the January meeting is to create an Events Committee to help coordinate activities and staff events, like the 4th of July booth or the Cole County Fair. If you are interested in chairing or serving on such a committee, let me know. Better yet, come to the Feb. 16 meeting and learn more about the Club’s activities!

Upcoming Meeting Information
Our next meeting is Thursday, March 15.
Social time starts at 5:30 pm. Program begins at 6:00 pm.
Rep. Sara Lampe, (D 138th) will discuss the issues and decisions the Legislature is facing in dealing with $500 million shortfall in the FY13 state budget. As a member of the House Budget Comm, Rep Lampe can give us insight in the direction they are likely to take.
Rep Lampe is a member of the House Elementary Education, Budget and Utilities Committees. She was first elected in 2004 and is an Educational Consultant and Adjunct Professor at Drury University. She graduated from S.W. Missouri State U and taught in public schools for 30 years, including 19 years as principal.
